Here I am, attempting to update my blog from my iPhone. Weird. My apologies if the formatting ends up looking strange and different from usual. Anyway, I’m currently sitting in my hotel room in lake forest, Illinois. It’s a bizarre feeling being back here, it’s been forever. But I really am here to say how much I love fall. I’ve completely missed out on it the past few years, and I forgot how beautiful it is. So I wanted to post some photos that I’ve taken with my phone while I’ve been here. It might crop them weird or something but theres not much I can do about it. Enjoy! PS-sorry about the gross vertical. Ew.
so, since I have several gigs of photos from this trip [to sicily], I’ll just post daily updates until I feel satisfied. let’s start from the top, shall we? also, I will warn you in advance, there will probably be numerous photos of food/drink. it is an important part of the culture there, so deal with it! kthanks.
stay tuned! much more to come.
yao! sorry for the absense. but now that I’m safely back in the states, I am excited to start updating my blog regularly again. I could go on and on about my travels, the long flights, my luggage not making it, blah blah. but I will spare you the gory details. instead, today I am posting photos from brussels, belgium. I had a semi-lengthy layover there, and ventured my way into the city. nothing was in english, so it was fun and exciting. I somehow didn’t even get lost. but it seems like a cool city, and I’d love to go back someday. plus…I want more waffles. so amazing. stay tuned for several updates this week with photos from sicily! cheers.
ciao!! greetings from italy. unfortunately I cant update my blog with photos while Im here because I forgot a zip drive, and Im not on my own computer. that is also why I cant use the apostrophe, because the keyboard is italian and I dont know where it is. neato!! so Im basically here to just give a quick lowdown on my life so far.
the day I left the US, I had a layover in chicago, which I was lucky enough to spend with my beautiful bestie boo courtney beckett. yay! it was too short, but sweet for certain. I miss you already my dear!! but we went to lunch at this creepy mafia style european restaurant. so funny. and then starbucks, of course. but it was a great quick catch up. cant wait to see you in october!!
then I had a seven hour flight to brussels. this was great. nobody spoke english at all, and I managed to take the train into the city for 3£, wander around aimlessly for hours, eat lots of waffles, and didnt get lost. without a map. I clearly am a world traveler from birth. but anyway, it was a really cool place that Id like to visit again with more time on my hands. so then I went back to the airport, drank a big stella, and got on my slightly delayed flight to palermo.
ahh, palermo. the flight was gorgeous, and I arrive with nice light, and a pleasant 30°c. chiara and her friend picked me up at the airport, no problem. they didnt even loose my bag…amazing.
since then, weve been swimming in the gorgeous mediterranean, eating tons of gelati and pasta, crusing ancient cities from the b.c. era, and seeing incredible vistas. the traditional home cooked meals have been amazing, and I feel so great. the saltwater has been amazing to my skin too, its silky smooth. oh, and tan. booyah!
anyway, thats pretty much all for now. Im living life and loving it, and basically never want to return. cant wait to share my photos when I get back! ahh!!
hope all is well back in the states. to you sb and ventura kids, please please be on the lookout for my lacie hard drive. it says I heart india on it and it is practically my life. if you find it on campus, holler at me. I will reward you, I promise.
I love you all! ciao!
I never really posted photos from my fourth of july. twas a wonderful day with brother and father, creating dangerous firework contraptions to put on a show for the neighbors. they clapped. so this is a little documentation from day to night.

I fly often. almost too often. every time I blink, it seems that I am on another plane going to another place. not that I’m complaining, I’m extremely lucky to be able to do that. I usually sit in the aisle seat, because it makes me feel like I have more space around me. and I can go to the bathroom as much as I please. but yesterday, I didn’t really have a seat assignment. well, I didn’t have one, and the only seat I could choose was a middle. absolutely not okay. so when I got to my gate, the woman behind the counter hooked me up with a window seat. lucky for me, this 45 minute flight from minneapolis to chicago was possibly the most glorious spectacle of clouds I have ever witnessed. enjoy it with me.
