Here I am, attempting to update my blog from my iPhone. Weird. My apologies if the formatting ends up looking strange and different from usual. Anyway, I’m currently sitting in my hotel room in lake forest, Illinois. It’s a bizarre feeling being back here, it’s been forever. But I really am here to say how much I love fall. I’ve completely missed out on it the past few years, and I forgot how beautiful it is. So I wanted to post some photos that I’ve taken with my phone while I’ve been here. It might crop them weird or something but theres not much I can do about it. Enjoy! PS-sorry about the gross vertical. Ew.
I never really posted photos from my fourth of july. twas a wonderful day with brother and father, creating dangerous firework contraptions to put on a show for the neighbors. they clapped. so this is a little documentation from day to night.
hello, big brother.
setting up the launching pad.
this is my dad. hi papa d 🙂
one of our special creations. tie together fuses for more fun!
dad making magic.
yeah, go ahead. be jealous. wisconsin rules.
flashlight fun. dad is down preparing to launch.
thank you, smoke, for neat effects.
look how tiny dad is down here! ^^ sweet.
eerie, smokey moonlight. perfect ending.
I fly often. almost too often. every time I blink, it seems that I am on another plane going to another place. not that I’m complaining, I’m extremely lucky to be able to do that. I usually sit in the aisle seat, because it makes me feel like I have more space around me. and I can go to the bathroom as much as I please. but yesterday, I didn’t really have a seat assignment. well, I didn’t have one, and the only seat I could choose was a middle. absolutely not okay. so when I got to my gate, the woman behind the counter hooked me up with a window seat. lucky for me, this 45 minute flight from minneapolis to chicago was possibly the most glorious spectacle of clouds I have ever witnessed. enjoy it with me.
hello! so when I woke up today, it was a bit overcast, but still warm. after a few hours, the sun started to come through, and there were great clouds. seemed like it would be a beautiful day.
but then things changed. here’s what happened (click HQ!)
and oh yeah…happy 4th of july!
p.s.-it’s gorgeous and sunny right now. ohhh wisconsin.
people always ask me where I’m from, or where my hometown is. I always struggle to answer. I tend to say chicago, because for the last 12 (approx.) years of my life, I have lived in the suburbs or in the actual city. however, the other chunk of those years (starting at age 2), I lived in western wisconsin. yes. my life has been divided almost exactly between two states. so where am I from? sometimes I just like to say “the midwest”…especially since I was born in minnesota. might as well throw that into the mix. anyway, I’m usually only up in this part of wisconsin about 2 times a year…4th of july and christmas. so here I am, right now, nestled into the countryside of hudson. my dad has been living in the same house practically my whole life, and while everything else in my life has drastically changed, this house hasn’t (with the exception of the shag carpeting…it had to go). with that said, it really makes me feel like I’m back home. so I took the camera out today while my dad and I roamed around running crucial errands and such (aka fireworks, coffee, lunch, etc) …nothing too special, but it makes me happy. more to come.
for all you confused, misinformed californians…hardee’s is the TRUE carl’s jr.
my grandmothers collection of spoons from different states. classic.
true wisconsin. fireworks, gasoline, and a john deere lawnmower. my dad told me that 20 years ago, he bought it brand new for $10,000. can you freaking believe that? I guess a price can certainly depict quality.
cloud stalker, no matter where I am.
until next time…take care!
